SENIOR DEDICATION PAGES

Dear Senior Parents:

We need to get senior dedication pages completed by Christmas break, as they must be submitted to the publisher during the break. Jostens now has templates that you can use to create your page, and you can do it at your own computer. If you need help, the yearbook staff will be having a senior dedication workshop on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Below is an instruction sheet to use at home. If you wish to come to the yearbook, please RSVP by emailing yearbook@flintriveracademy.com. You will need to bring with you:
• a flash drive or CD with photos spanning the years of your child’s life
• a credit or debit card

Thank you for purchasing a senior dedication page. We look forward to helping you get this milestone of your child’s senior year completed. If you have any questions, you may email us at the email given above.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SENIOR DEDICATION PAGE

Questions? Email yearbook@flintriveracademy.com

Parents:

These should be the correct steps for beginning to create a yearbook ad. I apologize if the steps differ slightly, as the choices differ slightly after you’ve created an account.
Step 1. Go to www.jostens.com/yearbookads.
Step 2. Type in/select “Flint River Academy” toward the top of the page.
Step 3. Sign in or register to create an account.
Step 4. Choose “Shop Your School,” then select Yearbook Recognition Ads.
Step 5. Select a template.
Step 6. Drag and drop photos into the layout; compose text if you chose a layout with a textbox.
Step 7. Save and come back later to work on it again; OR finish and pay.

Once you pay for your student’s ad, you will not be able to access it again. If you do not pay for it by the deadline, November 13, 2015, you will lose your work. We can get a deadline extension for those who don’t finish by the deadline, but there is a late fee and you have to start the work over again.

Please note that your senior dedication page will not look as it will look when published. Once you’ve added photos and text and paid for the page, it will be forwarded to the FRA yearbook staff for finishing touches to be added.

Thank you,
The Yearbook Staff

SENIOR YEARBOOK REQUIREMENTS

Attn Senior Parents:

A significant goal of the yearbook staff each year is to give great coverage to our senior class. In keeping with that, we have several things we need from you and deadlines that you need to know.

Senior Casual Pictures – Deadline September 30, 2016

If your student didn’t have casual pictures made by BPI, you will need to arrange to have some made in the near future. These should be current photos made during the senior year. While many families opt to have professional photos made of their students, we can use high quality/resolution photos made by a friend or family member. We need a minimum of two poses, preferably in two different outfits. These may be submitted through email at yearbook@flintriveracademy.com, or you may send a disk or flash drive. Please note that any students who do not turn their casual photos in by September 30 will be expected to have BPI take pictures when we have senior class/superlative pictures made on October 19. A $25 sitting fee will apply.

Senior Dedication Page – two deadlines:

Written commitment (see below) for a page are due Friday, September 16, 2016. Page design/creation and payment are due Thursday, December 15, 2016. Please note that if pages are not designed, completed and paid for by the deadline, a late charge will apply.

Seniors may purchase a dedication page in the yearbook. The cost is $225 for the page, and payment is made directly to Jostens online. No money is due at this time. These pages are designed and created online by you, making it easier and more convenient to use your favorite pictures and create a page you love. We need to know if you wish to purchase a dedication page for your son/daughter no later than September 16, 2016, as we must commit to the layout of our book. Please fill out the bottom of this page and turn it in to Mrs. Sears.

The yearbook staff will email page design and payment instructions to you within the next couple of weeks, and we will also offer an evening workshop session for those who need assistance. Payment is made online when you finish creating your page. If you wish to use older pictures that aren’t digital, please make plans to scan them and put them on a CD or flash drive.

Senior Quotes/Wills – Deadline Friday, October 28, 2016

Senior quotes should be submitted to Kinsey Evans or Shaina Lemke. Your son/daughter should choose a quote that is meaningful and inspirational to them. Quotes will be reviewed for appropriateness. Seniors may submit a will of no more than 50 words by this same date and, if space is available, they will be published placed in the yearbook. Wills that contain inappropriate remarks, information that the yearbook adviser does not understand, or that are submitted after the deadline will not be published—no exceptions.

We appreciate all you do to help us document your student’s senior year at Flint River Academy.

Sincerely,
The Yearbook Staff
