Headmaster's Letter

Dear Parents,

What a blessing it is for me to be coming back home to Flint River Academy as its new Headmaster! For 17 years, I was an FRA parent, and since the graduations of my daughters in 2010 and 2012, I have felt an emptiness. The connections and relationships you build with other parents here are like no other. What makes them special is you see the commitment everyone has in doing whatever is necessary to make Flint River Academy an extraordinary school, not just in terms of a quality learning environment or being a part of championship athletic programs, but also in helping every child achieve their goals and make memories that are treasured forever.

As a parent, you will find peace of mind in knowing your child’s safety, mental health, physical well-being, spiritual growth, AND academic expectations are all being addressed by FRA’s highly qualified faculty. A diploma from Flint River Academy, which is accredited with QUALITY by AdvancED, the Georgia Accrediting Commission, and the Southern Association of Independent Schools, will allow your child the opportunity to pursue their post-secondary dreams at any college or university, providing he/she has put in the time and effort to maintain a grade-point average that reflects the admission requirements of their chosen university.

As a student, you will be challenged by your teachers to exercise your mind the same way your coaches will challenge you to develop your athletic gifts to their fullest. For those of you who have talents outside the athletic field; music and art classes, along with literary teams, will give you a place to grow and express your gifts. At Flint River Academy, everyone has a place in which they can shine. We are all encouraged and permitted to grow as an individual. We are allowed and encouraged to think independently. And we are all considered family.

We aren’t perfect but what family is.

Won’t you come and add to our growing family. Please stop by anytime for a personal tour of our great school.

John Welch, Ed. S.
Proud Headmaster of FRA
