  • - Berner Scholarship
 

This scholarship application will be provided to FRA seniors only. Please see Mrs. Carroll for an application. You will need a transcript and short essay to go along with this scholarship application.

   

Due September 1, 2018. Seniors, this is a $1,500 scholarship on a quarterly basis going forward indefinitely. In addition, students can apply on either a merit or a need basis for the award; in either case, the application consists of two essays and some additional questions.

November 2018

 

Due November 6, 2018. This award can get you a $1,000 or $5,000 scholarship if you send in the required materials, along with an essay describing your community service and leadership activity. Students in fifth through twelfth grades who have completed community service within the last year are eligible to apply.

   

Due November 9, 2018. Create a short YouTube video (2 to 3 minutes in length, no longer than 5 minutes) to share your favorite brand which you think is having an awesome positive impact. Describe the brand, who they are, and what they're all about. Maybe you can influence other people to check them out! We'll share select videos on our social media channels to give their brand message greater exposure.

   

Apply for our annual Scholarship Challenge at our Macon, Georgia campus on Saturday, November 11, 2018.  We plan to award valuable scholarships this fall to high school seniors who are interested in Mercer’s engineering, industrial management and technical communications program.  More information about Mercer Engineering and a link to the Scholarship Challenge event is available at engineering.mercer.edu.

  • - The Berner Charitable and Scholarship Foundation
 

Due November 2018 (Date not indicated on application) This is a scholarship grant and loan totaling up to $5,000 per semester or $2,500 per quarter for up to $10,000 per academic year. Half is a scholarship and half is an interest free loan paid after college graduation. Please pick up application from Mrs. Carroll. Remember to include a 1-2 page essay detailing what you plan to major in while in college and what you hope to do with your degree upon graduation. This application will only be provided for FRA SENIORS.

   

Due November 20, 2018. Offers up to $40,000 per year for four years of undergraduate study at any accredited college or university. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's best four-year colleges and universities. Selected from a nationwide pool of applicants, up to 40 students will become Jack Kent Cooke Scholars and have access to funding for up to four years for undergraduate studies.

Due December 5, 2018. Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where students write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship.

   

Due December 5, 2018. Annual sponsorship award of $1,000 for U.S. high school seniors seeking a degree in an accredited four year university. The program will be awarded for the first time in 2016, and will continue annually to provide opportunity and support in the form of financial awards to students working to build skills and advance their education for use in service of their communities.

   

Due December 5, 2018. Recognize and reward students (ages 5- 25) who have made a significant impact in the fight against hunger. The scholarship recipients each receive $5,000 for their education as well as a matching grant in their name for the hunger-related charity of their choice.

Due December 31, 2018. Junior year is when the application process to the United States Air Force Academy truly begins. Students will start by filling out the Pre-Candidate Questionnaire, which becomes available online March 1 every year and starts the application process. When a student is ready to begin the application, they can visit the Pre-Candidate Questionnaire online. Between March 1 of their junior year and December 31 of their senior year, they must also request nominations from their state’s congressional representative(s) or other designated nominators.

Due January 4, 2019. Awards scholarships to seniors who embody the characteristics of President Ronald Reagan at school, in the community, in the workplace, and at home. Winners will receive a $10,000 renewable scholarship.

The state of Georgia offers 42 scholarships per year to Georgia high school seniors who attend the University of North Georgia and commission as officers in the Georgia Army National Guard after graduating with bachelor's degrees. The scholarship pays for your room, meals, tuition, books, uniforms, and fees. In addition, you receive National Guard weekend drill pay, GI Bill, pay for attending Army basic and advanced training, and Army ROTC contract pay (beginning of sophomore or junior year, if offered a contract to commission as a lieutenant). You may also be eligible for an enlistment bonus and monthly GI Bill kicker.

Due February 10, 2019. The Richard and Elizabeth Dean Scholarship awards two scholarships in the preferred amount of $5,000 each year for up to four consecutive years to graduating high school students.

The purpose of the GFB Foundation for Agriculture Technical College Scholarship for Agriculture is to assist outstanding students who plan to pursue a career focusing on agriculture from a technical school or program. The Foundation will award five scholarships of $1,000 each. To be eligible, applicant must: be a Georgia resident; be majoring in an area of agriculture or agriculturally related field of study; must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a Georgia accredited technical college during the 2018-2019 academic year; and have a minimum 2.8 GPA.

Applicants must be seeking a Bachelor’s Degree of Science with a major in chemistry, biology, physics, or geology, and must maintain one of the major fields of study in college to remain eligible. Do not submit an application unless you have been a legal resident of Meriwether County for at least three continuous years immediately prior to applying for the scholarship, and either already have graduated, or are on schedule for graduation within the next six months, from a Meriwether County private/public high school. To enter to win a $1,000 scholarship, simply submit a short essay (no more than 500 words) describing why you are passionate about substance use disorder and mental health treatment. Essays can be in the form of a personal narrative with a medical perspective or focus specifically on clinical experience.

Dr. Francis Anthony Beneventi Medical Scholarship A preferred amount $5,000 scholarship awarded to one student either attending or planning to attend an approved, accredited medical school, college, or university. The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.25. This scholarship is not automatically renewable; however, recipients may reapply for consideration each year for up to four consecutive years, pending receipt of proof of continued enrollment (no pre–med, veterinarian, or physician assistant), and after the first semester, an annual transcript review indicating a minimum GPA of 3.25.

The Lucinda Beneventi Findley History Scholarship Due before February 10, 2016. Four $3,000 scholarships available annually to college freshmen enrolled full-time in an undergraduate pre-engineering, engineering or engineering technology program leading to a bachelor degree in a course of study that traditionally has been a preparatory curriculum for the HVAC&R profession. Applicants must be high school seniors who have been accepted into a pre-engineering, engineering, or engineering technology program at a post-secondary educational institution that meets at least one of the following criteria:
• The institution hosts a recognized ASHRAE Student Branch
• The program is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) or the Partnership for Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration Accreditation (PAHRA) in the USA
• The program is accredited by an equivalent agency outside the USA that is part of The Washington or Sydney Accord or has a signed Memorandum of Understanding with ABET.
